TECHNICAL ENGLISH ASSESSMENT:  AFI

 

The mark will be obtained through one or more of the following TYPES OF ACTIVITIES in the following proportions:

TECHNICAL COMPETENCE: 70%


-Test questions:

-Vocabulary and appropriate structures
-Using text organizers

-Translating texts related to the professional sector.
-Understanding general and specific information from texts related to the professional sector.
-Understanding and filling in professionally related documents: writing a European CV will be required.
-Carrying out projects: students will be required to do oral presentations of projects.

-Any activity that may indicate the acquisition of technical vocabulary.

 

  • PO:   Oral test.
  • PE:   Written test
  • TE:   Written work
  • TO:  Oral work

 

TRANSVERSAL COMPETENCE: 30%

 

-Respect for the conventions of written language, accuracy and care in presentation.

-Good attitude on participation involvement, collaboration and teamwork; attendance and interest in one's progress.


PT: Work Participation (10%) and use of oral English (10%): Manners and classroom rapport with peers, positive participation in the class-room, interest shown in knowledge and effort, bringing the materials required to the classroom and doing the homework will have a value of 10% within the final mark, this will be based upon the teacher’s general impression through observation.  Communicating in English both with classmates and with the teacher will be valued 10%.
A: Attendance: Attendance will be checked and registered in the classroom activity book and may have a value of 10% within the final mark according to the attached table*

Attendance will not be taken into account unless other attitudinal aspects reach a minimum of 5. Lessons missed for well grounded causes, as well as coming late to lessons will count as half (written note to be

handed in within seven days from the absence)

 

Students who have failed to attend 80% of the lessons during the whole course will have no right for ongoing assessment and will have to take the final exam. Students who have failed the first written assessment test or project, may recover it if they pass the second test or project. If the students fail both the first and second written assessment tests or projects, they will have another opportunity before the final exam.
